Honey - the Browser Plugin That Saves You Money

About six months ago, I signed up for Honey, which is a browser plugin that gets you discounts when shopping online.  Instead of searching the internet for coupon codes to get discounts, Honey does it for you automatically.

The first time I saved money with Honey was about a year ago when was shopping for a new carry-on suitcase at Amazon.com.  I found the suitcase I liked and started to check out.  Before I began to pay, the Honey plugin showed me that I could get the suitcase cheaper on Amazon from another seller.  I clicked on the Honey recommendation and saved another $30.

Fast forward to the end of 2018 and Honey now finds deals on many websites including Amazon, Best Buy, Crate & Barrel, Macy's, Marriott, Nike, Nordstrom, Sephora, and more.

In addition to showing lower prices from other sellers, Honey also shows pricing history on Amazon.com which is helpful to determine if there's any seasonality in the items you want to purchase.  If you don't need the item right away, it helps to wait and buy the item in the off-season.

There is also a feature in Honey called DropList, which allows you to put a price watch against an item you're interested in.  Honey will monitor the item for 30, 60 or 90 days and will let you know if the price goes down from your set amount.

Overall, I have saved at least a hundred dollars using Honey, and I highly encourage it.
